Mujeres Unidas was formed in 1989 by Sister Carmen
Rodriguez, Ana Amaya, and other women in the community who wished to better
the lives of Latino women in the Fargo-Moorhead area. These women saw the
need for an organization whose goal was to help migrant farm worker women
free themselves from the isolation and feelings of powerlessness caused by
culture differences and prejudice. Mujeres Unidas has accomplished it's goal through
determination, education, and a strong sense of community.
